Readymade garments of Pakistan, because of its high quality has created a place for itself in the world market. Although, the country is passing through a lot of difficulties, exporters of the same definitely have a reason to smile.
According to the data released by Federal Bureau of Statistics, in first seven months of current fiscal year, there is an increase of nearly 7.2 percent in exports of readymade garments.
The export of ready to wear apparels has augmented to US $864 million, compared to $809 million of same time last year. However, export of textile products on the whole has decreased almost 3.44 percent during the present financial year, in comparison to last fiscal. The total export stood at $6.028 billion against $6.242 billion.
Products which saw a growth of nearly 25 percent include silk and synthetic textiles. Even the export of made up articles rose to approximately 19.78 percent excluding towels and home furnishing. Other related textile items also witnessed a growth of around 0.69 percent.
The statistics furhter show in December 2007, Pakistan exported garments worth $132.26 million.
