According to Agteck,(Association of garment, textile, embroidery and knitting, the garment companies in Ho Chi Minh City(HCMC), have succeeded in negotiating with their foreign clients to increase export prices from 5 to 20 percent for the second quarter of 2008.
Binh Hoa, a garment company has signed a contract of exporting around 30,000 elastic shirts to US market with a rise of nearly 10 percent.
Hoan Cau, apparel manufacturer earned almost 5 to 15 percent of growth for its products. While, Thach Bich Company will export 70,000 products with a boost of 20 percent in export price.
Other companies that have been successful in getting a rise in export price include Mai Ka, Minh Hoang, Saigon garment company No 2 and No 3, Tan Phu Cuong and Legamex.
Experts believe that, increase in export price is seen as a positive move made by the foreign buyers as prices of raw materials have risen leading to low profit margins.
