A recent report revealed that the Chinese necktie standards which were being followed since nearly nine years have been revised.

The new set of standards, which demands necktie producers to clearly specify the size in centimeter, will be formally enforced with effect from July this year.

This measure has been undertaken to make it more convenient for the buyers to understand the different sizes available for neckties.

Apart from this new inclusion, the new standards also calls for examination on the formaldehyde, PH, and decomposable aromatic amine dyeing content as well as on peculiar smell and other indexes.

While formaldehyde content must be less than 300 milligram per kilogram, the PH must range from 4.0 to 9.0 in order to prevent skin irritation and other reactions.

A few Chinese manufacturers have also taken to decomposable aromatic dyeing to cut down on their expenditure. However, it had been notified earlier that the use of this dye caused diseases and other skin problems and was therefore prohibited. The new standard for necktie has once again specified avoiding the use of this chemical.
