Dickies, the leading global workwear brand, is kicking off its 2008 American Worker of the Year search with a humorous entry form that lets participants create a work-related avatar and submit their contest entry or nominate a favorite worker.

Workers across the country can enter using this viral “Tell a Friend” technology for a chance to win a grand prize of $1 million and a VIP trip to the Dickies 500. The only contest of its kind, the American Worker of the Year has honored farmers, builders, teachers, electrical lineman and soldiers, and continues to show individuals around the country that Dickies truly is the voice of the American worker.

Ever dreamed of slinging a hammer on a construction site, delivering packages at the speed of light or becoming one of the police department's finest? Now you can. The Work-A-Gram is the perfect way to try on a new look, and enter the contest for yourself or enter your favorite American worker. Visit workeroftheyear.com and select the “Tell a Friend” page, and then follow the instructions to create an entry.

The six 2008 American Worker of the Year finalists will be chosen from all regions of the country on Aug. 15, and each will receive a prize package including a trip for two to the Professional Bull Riders World Finals in Las Vegas where they will be awarded a Yamaha four-wheeler, a B&W hitch, a Polaroid digital camera and a regional Dickies gift certificate.

The American Worker of the Year grand prize winner will be announced during the PBR World Finals intermission and be awarded the newly upgraded grand prize package of a 2009 Ford pick-up truck, a Yamaha Rhino premium four-wheeler, a regional Dickies gift certificate and a trip to the Dickies 500 for a chance to win $1 million by randomly choosing the number of one of the Sprint Cup cars, should it go on to win the race.
