Haeftling: do good, be good – 1st time at a trade fair

Haeftling present themselves even bigger with their second collection in spring/summer 2009 and take the opportunity at the trade fair JAM, Cologne, to show them at such an occasion for the first time. With a total of 70 pieces, the women and men collections will be doubled introducing new designs. These are underlined by the new Haeftling CD, which features the finest blues, jazz, soul, and country music by stars like Johnny Cash, Curtis Mayfield, and Cher, thus, giving impressions of the world behind the bars.

Based on the prison style of the 1920s, 30s, or 40s, Haeftling's spring/summer collection presents hard-wearing materials, which go strong with special fabrics such as Deutschleder, moleskin, and workwear denim. Made of Deutschleder are also the prototypes of Haeftling's first handbag collection, which have been designed in cooperation with the German product designers Vogt & Weizenegger.

The hardware collection will be extended by barbecue aprons produced in the prison of Halle, Germany. The commitment to social rehabilitation is still an important part of Haeftling's strategy. Their timing is perfect for supporting the premiere of the jail comedy Underdogs with their first spring/summer collection. Cinemas, the premiere staff, and leading actors will be outfitted by Haeftling for several promotion and TV events.

Having only just restarted their online shop in March this year, Haeftling was even able to add orders from several countries of Europe and the USA to their success of the past three months. With catchphrases such as “made in prison”, inspired by “jail”, or “goodwill”, which supports social rehabilitation and Amnesty International, HAEFTLING proves do be different than the others. It´s not lifestyle, but prison style – it´s not convict look, but urban street wear.
