lululemon athletica invites Long Islanders to breathe deeply

A few cult followers may already know about yoga-inspired athletic apparel company lululemon. And for those who don't, you soon will. On Friday, June 27th, Long Islanders can join in the fun as lululemon opens its doors at the Roosevelt Field Mall. With a mission to create components for people to live longer, healthier, more fun lives, lululemon allows yogis, runners, dancers and fitness enthusiasts to experience highly functional products with outstanding fit.

"It isn't easy to mix fashion with function and comfort and to have it be so flattering, but lululemon does it with great style!” says lululemon ambassador and founder of ECA Fitness, Carol Scott. “I am looking forward to the opening of the Roosevelt Field store for I won't have to travel all the way to New York City to shop for it anymore!"

For those who already feel like summer is getting away from them or that they can't find the time to hit the gym or the yoga mat, lululemon is encouraging Long Islanders of all athletic backgrounds to appreciate the moment. The opening weekend kicks off with a complimentary in-store Boot Camp class at 8:30 a.m. on Saturday, June 28th with lululemon ambassador Carol Scott, followed by a healthy complimentary breakfast. After you catch your breath, doors will open at 10 a.m. for a day of fun fitness festivities including yoga and Pilates demos, treadmill try-outs in the store window, and of course a chance to try the functional gear for yourself.

The opening celebration continues on Sunday, June 29th with a 60-minute Stroller Strides class at 10 a.m. – the perfect way for moms to breathe together and get their endorphins going without having to worry about entertaining their little ones. At 1p.m., watch athletes, yogis, and dancers perform in lululemon's 'Function Show,' a fashion show that's all about function. Afterward, it's your turn to take the stage with a complimentary all-levels Zumba class – a fitness class inspired by Latin dance - with local instructor Nate Jefferson.

The store will partner with local studios and fitness clubs to offer a variety of weekly complimentary classes, demos and health-related seminars to its guest.
