Export of elastic shirts generate highest revenue

Statistics recently released by MOIT, Vietnam suggest that elastic shirt is the highest foreign currency earner among all textile and apparel products exported from Vietnam in the first five months of 2008.
In May alone, shipments of elastic shirts generated US $187 million, posting a growth of 7.68 percent over April and 29 percent compared to the same period in 2007.
During the first five months of the current year, exports turnover of elastic shirts touched US $795 million, an increase of 32 percent over the corresponding period in 2007 and accounted for nearly 24 percent of all textile and apparel exports from Vietnam.
