It has been noted that since the beginning of this year domestic market for innerwear and related products has been steadily expanding.

The reason for this is considered to be the budding fashion awareness combined with the strengthened purchasing power of the middle-class locals.

However, last week has been extremely good for underwear sector.

Experts believe that since weather in China is growing colder each day, people are rushing to buy clothes that will keep them comfortable and away from the chill.

Innerwear and underwear are among such garments that cuddle the wearer's body in a warm embrace.

Thus, sales surged almost 20 percent in just one week.

Besides, underwear once among the most expensive garments on sale, was priced at several hundred yuan per piece. However, today, most of the varieties are priced below 100 yuan per piece.

Another factor that has generated buying interest among the locals is the fabrics used. Reportedly, while underwear manufacturers mostly used lycra fabric till last year, are now shifting to natural fibre, especially, modal fibre.

This shows that brands have started paying close attention to raw-materials, by upgrading the quality of products.

Recent analysis also showed that now most of the clothing and textile makers, including innerwear companies, are abiding by the national quality standards.

Nevertheless, experts reminded customers that currently some fake and counterfeit underwear products are being sold in several local markets.

They said that it is important for the well-being of people that the formaldehyde content must be lower than 75 milligram per kilogram's underwear.

Thus, buyers have been requested to check the brand name and label and other such details closely before making a deal. Advisers say that is best to purchase products from a reputed mall or branded outlet to avoid such mistakes.
