Mountain Gear joins Backpacker Magazine's Summit. For Someone benefit climb program as a Presenting Sponsor.

“Mountain Gear is excited to team up with Big City Mountaineers to promote participation in outdoor activities through the Summit For Someone program," said Paul Fish, president of Mountain Gear.

"The program supports BCM's outstanding outings for under-resourced urban youth. This partnership has great synergy with both partners' goals of creating new participants in outdoor activities. It is especially powerful as it targets both adults and youth."

Mark Godley, Executive Director of Big City Mountaineers and Founder of Backpacker Magazine's Summit for Someone comments, “With Mountain Gear joining Backpacker Magazine as the major sponsors of this program, Summit for Someone is in position to remain the leading mountaineering-based fundraising program in the country.

Adding Mountain Gear is going to contribute significant value to our participants. We are very excited by Paul's continued leadership and generosity in the outdoor industry.”

Summit for Someone is a fundraising program owned by and to benefit Big City Mountaineers. In its fifth year and continuing to see record success, Summit for Someone is the No. 1 mountaineering fundraiser in the country.

Big City Mountaineers (BCM), a 501(c)(3) non-profit, is a recreational mentoring program for at-risk teens. The mission of BCM is to enhance the lives of under-resourced urban teens through transformative outdoor experiences.
