Pippi S/S collection with practical qualities

Pippi's new Spring/Summer 2009 collection is sharper than usual. The colours match, the sets can be combined in many ways and the general look is striking. When the time comes for hours on the swing and warm days with bucket and spade at the beach, Pippi has strong offers for dressing the little ones. Today, Pippi is a full-concept brand providing clothes for children from newborn to the age of eight.

For the youngest, Pippi Newborn offers a broad range focusing mainly on the choice of materials. The main fabric is cotton, which protects the sensitive skin of newborn babies. Generally, Pippi's principal strategy is to design the clothes which the children themselves would choose – “children's choice” is more than just a slogan.

A bodystocking combined with a top offers a clever two-in-one function, as it is only necessary to pull one garment over the small child's head. The collection also includes an exquisite bunting bag of soft poplin, so there is something for every imaginable situation for those wanting to give their baby an optimal clothing start to a good day. Fashion is also a factor for the very youngest, and washed jeans of thin denim have therefore been included in the range, of course in a super-soft material which is pleasant for the baby to lie in. They will be among the favourites in the clothes pile when mum is meeting her friends at a café. Part of the Pippi Newborn range carries the Oeko-Tex 100 label.

When the children reach nursery school age, the large Pippi Kids range offers many combination options. Pippi has chosen to add some lycra to the tops for the 2-8 year olds to ensure that the clothes retain their shape and colours, even after many trips to the playground in sun and wind. The tops are mainly worn with jeans in keeping with the general trend – what is completely new is the choice of different fits like in adult fashion: slim fit, anti fit and baggy jeans. The children get clothes that fit their own playing and movements – as well as their already well-developed taste, of course. Pippi Kids is designed on the basis of current fashions, with a practical touch, so that the clothes do not just look good on the hanger, but also work in daily life.

Pippi's rapidly growing bestseller is the functional CareTec series, which includes everything from lined and unlined rainwear to thermal wear, fleece jackets and suits and exquisite soft-shell jackets. The rainwear and thermal wear have been supplemented with new, strong colours and prints. Another new feature in this category is a considerable range of fleece items for baby and child in several colours and with all the necessary details to ensure a warm day in the sandpit or pram.
