Mr Feldenkreis of Perry Ellis recognised as outstanding CEO

Perry Ellis International Inc announced that George Feldenkreis, Chairman and C.E.O., was recognized with the “Outstanding C.E.O. of the Year” award by the Greater Miami Chamber of Commerce. This award recognizes outstanding leadership, dedication to philanthropy and success in business in the Miami-Dade community.
Carlos Fernandez-Guzman, Chairman of the Greater Miami Chamber of Commerce commented, “George's vision, leadership and accomplishments; his inspirational story; and relentless desire to succeed make George one of the most distinguished recipients of this award.”
The Greater Miami Chamber of Commerce has served the business community of Miami-Dade, the sixth largest Metropolitan Service Area in the United States for nearly 100 years. The organization is committed to the service of its members through advocacy, regional and international business development, leadership, marketing, and a vast array of member services and programs.
“I want to thank the Greater Miami Chamber of Commerce for such a prestigious award. Miami has been my home for almost 50 years, and I am very proud to be recognized by Miami's business community as the Outstanding CEO of 2008. This is a great honor,” Mr. Feldenkreis commented.
Mr. Feldenkreis has been honored with numerous awards for his achievements including the Lincoln-Marti award for his valuable assistance to the Cuban Refugee program and for “extraordinary performance of civic duty”; the David Ben Gurion Award by the Cuban Hebrew Bond Committee; the prestigious Ernst & Young “Entrepreneur of the Year Award” in 1998; the National Conference for Community and Justice's Silver Medallion for “Service to Humanity”; and the Milton Margolis Award for his humanitarian contributions among many others.
