Buzz Off Insect Shield, the pioneer of insect-repellent clothing technology, announces the completion of its re-branding to Insect Shield. The Buzz Off brand will no longer be utilized as of May 1, 2009. Consumers familiar with Buzz Off Insect Shield Insect Repellent Apparel can now visit insectshield.com for updates about Insect Shield Repellent Apparel and other Insect Shield products, and corporate information.

Insect Shield Repellent Apparel is U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) registered to provide effective insect protection through 70 washings, almost three times the initial claim of 25 washings for the original Buzz Off Insect Shield apparel, achieved in July 2003. Insect Shield apparel products available now for spring 2009 offer the increased repellent durability of 70 washings.

"Our new brand name succinctly explains the protective aspect of our products and the improved technology provides greater value for our partners and consumers," says Jason Griffin, Insect Shield executive vice president. "The enhanced Insect Shield technology makes the insect repellency effective essentially for the life of a garment, which is a remarkably convenient and valuable advantage in insect protection."

Look for new Insect Shield apparel and accessories on the market now from top brands such as L.L. Bean, Orvis, ExOfficio, REI, Sloggers, RailRaiders, Outdoor Research, Tilley, Zorrel, Carolina Manufacturing and Buff.
