25th IAF World Apparel Convention to be held in New Delhi

The IAF is proud to announce that the Silver Jubilee IAF World Apparel Convention will be held on November 18th – 20th, 2009, in New Delhi, India.
Program
A major supplier to the world's fashion markets, India is fast emerging as a promising market for global brands and retailers. The country contributes significantly to the world's textile and apparel market and the industry forms the backbone of India's recent economic boom.
Renowned speakers from leading apparel companies will speak about the following topics:
• From vertical integration to virtual integration: a way forward?
• Asia: From a sourcing hub to a fashion destination
• Fair Trade: is it really fair?
• India: a destination to partnerships: an exciting retail opportunity for international fashion
• Branding into emerging markets: dealing with cultural influences on apparel fashion
• From fashion savvy to tech savvy: technology to the rescue of fast fashion

During the same week, IAF member association, the American Apparel and Footwear Association (AAFA), will also be organizing a seminar about Health and Safety Regulations in the United States. In addition to this, the International Wool Textile Organization (IWTO) is in the process of arranging their round table at the same time as the IAF World Apparel Convention as well. Further information will be distributed as soon as the final details are put together.
The Study Tour, which will take place following the convention, will include a trip to a typical Indian apparel manufacturing plant, which showcases the Indain entrepreneur's success in merging his traditional strengths with the chainging requirement of modern, enlightened, and socially aware buyers. It also includes a trip to one of the exciting new shopping malls which are changing the face of India's shopping. Furthermore, visits to the incomparable Taj Mahal, a look at Fatehpur Sikri and to the Pink City of Jaipur have been planned as part of the Study Tour.
