A garment manufacturing company which produces jeanswear for two prominent international brands is in the dock for releasing chemical water in to the neighbouring river and thereby polluting the environment.
The factory which is owned by a Taiwanese based company, manufacturing jeans for GAP and Levis has been accused of the same. The river is a source of water for nearby villagers for drinking and cooking.
The factory has also been accused of dumping hazardous waste full of chemical waste and razors, harmful for small scavenger children in the city's dump yard. GAP is known for being an environmental conscious brand.
