Denim illustrates the fashion versatility of cotton

It may be fall, but cotton is in full bloom at Saks Fifth Avenue. Nine windows on 50th street of the renowned Fifth Avenue flagship store will tout a cotton theme to promote the retailer's nationwide denim promotion, August 6-9, co-sponsored by Lucky Magazine and Cotton Incorporated.

“Whether chosen for price or designer style, denim illustrates the fashion versatility of cotton,” says Paula G. Rosario, Vice President, Consumer Marketing - Strategic Alliances at Cotton Incorporated. “A denim event by such a renowned fashion retailer as Saks underscores the fact that cotton denim is not just a wardrobe staple, but a fashion staple, as well. We are thrilled with the cotton themed windows of the flagship store,” adds Rosario.

At the Saks flagship store on New York's Fifth Avenue, the August 6 in-store event will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 pm in women's Contemporary denim on five, and will feature a Lucky Magazine photo shoot. Women will be able to try on jeans and have their photos taken. In addition, shoppers can take advantage of a complimentary make-up consultation, blow-out and refreshments. Across all 53 Saks locations nationwide, shoppers spending $250 or more in contemporary denim will receive a $50 gift card; those who spend $500 or more in contemporary denim will receive a $100 gift card.

Lucky is supporting the promotion in its August denim issue, through advertisements in the newly-designed LuckyAtYourService.com, the digital concierge, and via the Lucky iPhone app. Both Lucky digital options allow consumers to browse more than 400 styles of denim jeans and to reserve a pair at the nearest Saks Fifth Avenue location. Saks is also giving away branded cotton scarves, while supplies last, to shoppers who can show the Lucky and Saks advertisements displayed on their Lucky iPhone app, or to those who have printed out the ads from either LuckyAtYourService.com or their Lucky email blast.
