The American Apparel & Footwear Association (AAFA) congratulated Robert Adler and Anne Northup on their confirmation by the U.S. Senate to serve as commissioners of the Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC).
“I am very pleased the Senate has acted quickly to bring a full slate of leadership to the CPSC,” said AAFA President and CEO Kevin M. Burke. “Mr. Adler and Ms. Northup, along with their Commission colleagues, have pledged to work with Congress and stakeholders to address the many challenges the U.S. apparel and footwear industry, like so many other industries, currently faces because of the Consumer Product Safety Improvement Act.”
“Now that we have five commissioners at the CPSC, AAFA stands by ready to continue the process of restoring common sense and predictability to America's product safety regulatory framework,” said Burke. “Jointly, we can make sure that these regulations become a tool, and not an obstacle, to facilitate the production and distribution of safe children's products."
