Spencer's Retail, a subsidiary of RPG Group has plans to introduce a few international clothing brands in the country. It will also increase store count of US-based Beverly Hills Polo Club (BHPC) brand, with which Spencer's Retail has a tie-up.

Currently BHPC has three standalone stores, which will be raised to 10 in the next six months. This was revealed by Mr Sanjiv Goenka, Vice Chairman, RPG Enterprises, while inaugurating the third exclusive store of BHPC.

Spencer's Retail plans to invest Rs 100 crores in expanding the retail business. This will go into opening 10-12 large format Spencer stores as well as expansion of BHPC network of stores.

He also divulged that they had tied up with a western high fashion brand and will be launched shortly. In the past few months Spencer's Retail has shut down nearly 100 odd stores due to high rentals and low footfalls and sales.

"Spencer's Retail is in talks with other big Indian retail players for coordinating their back-end operations, which are in initial stages, but all retail majors need to discuss the issue in depth and it will take time to reach some decision", he said.
