Studio Ray to produce Izod swimwear line

Phillips-Van Heusen Corporation announced that it has licensed Studio Ray, a New York-based sportswear firm, to design, produce and market men's, women's and children's swimwear under PVH's iconic IZOD brand in the United States and its possessions and territories.
Studio Ray will begin delivering IZOD swimwear to better department and specialty stores for the Spring 2010 season. The men's and boys' collection will include surf-inspired board shorts and tops, while the women's and girls' line will cover a broad range of silhouettes in solids, paisleys and stripes. The IZOD logo will be visible throughout the IZOD assortment.
“We've long considered a strong statement in swimwear an essential component of a comprehensive IZOD lifestyle presentation,” said Allen Sirkin, President and Chief Operating Officer of Phillips-Van Heusen. “In Studio Ray, we've found a licensee that we believe understands the IZOD brand and has the resources, discipline and understanding of value to allow IZOD swimwear to realize its potential at retail and strengthen our growing brand family.”
The IZOD swimwear collection will be available at its showroom at 512 Seventh Avenue, 20th floor, in New York.
Studio Ray was founded by Ray Haber, President, in 1998 and markets performance apparel, activewear, swimwear, outerwear, footwear and accessories, including those under its ZeroXposur brand, for the entire family.
“We are proud to be partnering with IZOD and PVH,” said Haber. “The IZOD brand has a heritage of modern styling for a young, active lifestyle. We've assembled a swimwear line with great fashion and function, exceptional value and the kind of vibrant colors one would expect from IZOD.”
Dating back to the 1930s, the active IZOD brand now is licensed to 24 companies covering 29 different product categories in the U.S., as well as in five international markets.
