Dunning Sportswear announces that 2008 Ironman world champion Craig Alexander has joined the roster of elite athletes who prefer the brand's range of authentic, premium-quality apparel.

Away from competition, the 36-year-old will wear Dunning's complete selection of shirts, pants, shorts, sweaters and thermal pieces, including the company's new Tour slim fit collection offering close-cut, vintage 60s inspired tailoring. An Australian who trains in Boulder, CO, Alexander will also play an integral role in product development, serve as a company spokesperson and be featured in advertising, marketing materials and in-store displays.

“My connection to Dunning is that the clothes are so clearly created from an athlete's perspective,” says Alexander. “I love how versatile the fits and fabrics are. They've got the classic-looking button down with built-in performance, as well as some great cotton and wool pieces which are often what I really want after a race or training session.”

Nicknamed “Crowie,” the 2006 Triathlete of the Year has won 27 races worldwide since 2004 and finished runner-up on 14 occasions, capped by his victory in Hawaii last October. An all-around athlete who is also passionate about surfing and golf, the self-coached father of two has a background in physiology and anatomy.

“We create performance sportswear for everyday life and this is an amazing opportunity for us to partner with one of the world's best athletes,” says Company Founder Ralph Dunning. “As a fellow Ironman competitor, I've always admired Craig's determination, ability and success. He's got an easy, natural style that really lends itself to our designs.”

Distinctive Dunning garments include traditional shorts, pants and shirts enhanced with modern technology through a proprietary blend of cotton and Invista Coolmax. Drawing from the company's extensive technical apparel background to create an advanced yet truly classic gentleman's look, these pieces they wick moisture, dry instantly, boast a lightweight construction and soft hand.

Fueled by both an athletic and authentic country club heritage, Dunning sportswear is built on premium quality, clean silhouettes and classic colors. Featuring premium quality fabrics and a complete consistency of fit, Dunning garments are born from two decades on the leading-edge of technical apparel design combined with a family tradition of classic British tailoring.
