Retailing creates ample job opportunities

Retailing in India has offered ample amount of opportunities to Indian business and job seekers during the past decade. Due to the large and young consumer base, India appears to be a lucrative market for international retailers and brands. Over 65 per cent of the population is below 35 yrs old, of which, 54 per cent of the population is below 25 years of age.

India provides job opportunities to the young generation as in most developing countries which has led to growth in incomes and purchasing power, leading to increase in disposable incomes, which has substantially increased the size of retail market in India.

Still, India is lacking in providing skilled manpower to the industry. Various private and government organisations have taken major steps to encourage the young rural population to take part in various schemes run by government of India and maximize their level of knowledge and skills.

Boom in the Indian retail Industry has encouraged numerous job opportunities and brought employment opportunities for every stratum of the unemployed. Jobs are available in management, storage; logistics, back end etc.
