Perry Ellis International announced that it has signed two new licensing agreements for its Jantzen and ProPlayer brands with MAG Brands LLC/Millennium Apparel Group (“MAG Brands”) and IFG Corp. (“Innovative Fashion Group”), respectively. Both MAG Brands and Innovative Fashion Group are part of the Adjmi Apparel group of companies.

“We are very excited about the continued expansion into new product categories for our diversified portfolio of brands. MAG Brands and Innovative Fashion Group are great business partners and leaders in their respective categories. We look forward to a successful and expanding business partnership with them,” Oscar Feldenkreis, President and COO of Perry Ellis International, commented.

MAG Brands, a leader in the children's swimwear market, will design, manufacture and distribute girls' swimwear and cover-ups under the Jantzen brand in the U.S. The Jantzen product line for girls will be designed exclusively for sizes 4 to 16 and include swimsuits, board shorts, rash guards and swim cover-ups and will be distributed at the department store and specialty sports channels. Initial shipments are expected in early January 2010.

Raymond Dayan, President of MAG Brands commented: “Jantzen is one of the best brands in the swimwear market today, and we are very excited at MAG Brands for having the opportunity to produce a girls' line under such an iconic name. Our unique capabilities, coupled with the heritage of Jantzen, make a very powerful combination in the marketplace.”

Innovative Fashion Group will design, manufacture and distribute men's athletic apparel and performance underwear under the ProPlayer brand. The line will be distributed in the U.S. at sports specialty stores and mid-tier retailers starting in November of 2009. This license excludes product in the collegiate team logo market, which is covered by another PEI Licensing licensee.

“ProPlayer is a great brand with amazing untapped potential in the athletic apparel market. This agreement will allow us to position ProPlayer as a true performance alternative in the mid-tier and sporting channel markets. We look forward to a successful business relationship with a great company such as Perry Ellis International,” Ronnie Adjmi, President of Innovative Fashion Group concluded.
