Paddlers the world over can agree on at least one thing: Stronger shoulders are better. The new River Shirt from Opedix has been proven in a medical lab to make your shoulders stronger, simply by wearing it. From the moment you put on the River Shirt, your posture and shoulder joint strength are improved and you'll be able to paddle with more strength and for longer.

Combining the warm and fuzzy Comp 4 Quattro Fleece fabric with the non-stretch soft bracing fabric of the Posture Shirt, the River Shirt is a perfect fit for warmth and strength while enjoying any water sport.

How does it work? The River Shirt pulls shoulders back into correct posture, and uses proprioception in the back to constantly, gently, remind your body to be in the correct position. The compression of the Comp 4 fabric is warm, wicking and quick-drying, while also keeping muscles fresh longer, allowing you to get out there for longer.

With results proven in a double blind clinical orthopedic study, the River Shirt from Opedix is backed by hard evidence – Evidence Based Apparel. The results showed a 6% immediate increase in shoulder strength just from wearing the shirt. Other benefits attributable to improved posture include increased strength and stability in the shoulder, improved breathing efficiency, decreased neck, back and shoulder pain, and muscle tension in the neck and shoulder.

“The Posture Shirt evolved from a medically prescribed neck, shoulder and back bracing system,” said Kim Gustafson, Founder and VP Product Development at Opedix. “When we saw the many benefits to be gained from better posture, we felt we needed to bring it to everyone!” Gustafson exclaimed. “The Posture and River Shirts are comfortable to wear and don't require a conscious effort to improve posture or strength. It's really remarkable how they do this.”

“When surfing hydraulics the size of small houses you need all the power you can muster,” said John Fullbright, professional kayaker and photographer. “My Opedix top is an amazing piece of equipment. I can totally feel the difference it makes in my power and posture.”

Benefits gained by wearing the River Shirt:
• Increased strength in the shoulder
• Increased stability of the shoulder joint
• Decreased neck, back, and shoulder pain
• Decreased muscle tension in the neck and shoulder
• Improved posture
• Increased lung capacity
• Warmth and comfort
• Wicking and quick-drying
