Briefs to protect hips from injuries in extreme sports

Every year hundreds of athletes in extreme sports such as skiing, skateboarding, skating and mountain biking, suffer injuries caused by the significant impact of a fall and most injuries caused by a fall affect the hip region as this is the most vulnerable to sudden impact.

However, despite this fact most athletes fail to wear adequate protection for the hip and thigh area. But all this is set to change, with the launching of Impacta sports unisex briefs, which will prove to be the natural choice for those taking part in extreme sport activities and which provides, both hip bone and tail bone protection.

Impacta sports briefs are made from 100 percent pure cotton fabrics, incorporating a soft, thin pad over each hip bone to absorb and dissipate the impact of a fall. The protective padding incorporates Koroyd, a new generation of protective material which utilises a sandwich construction of angular tubing made from a special co-polymer.

The 'impact ready nature of this revolutionary new patented material absorbs and disperses over 80 percent of transmitted impact forces when tested under PPE European Directive conditions and by absorbing and dispersing impact forces away from the hip bone and into the pelvic girdle and surrounding soft tissue and muscle, the risk of hip fracture is greatly reduced.

The highly durable, shock-absorbing pads are very light and thin enough to be unnoticeable when worn under most clothing and won't affect an athlete's performance. Physiosupplies, one of the UK's leading distributors of physiotherapy and fitness equipment, has introduced the range of hip protection underwear from Global Impact (UK) Limited.
