China's total exports of T-shirts to overseas markets registered US $3.79 billion in the first eight months of 2009, down by 32.71 percent from the corresponding period of the previous year.
The negative growth in exports of T-shirts was higher by 20.93 points when compared with the negative growth rate of 11.78 recorded by the entire textile and apparel sector in the same period.
In recent months, other countries like Cambodia, Vietnam, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka have grabbed global market shares of the Chinese on the strength of their competitiveness.
