J.Crew contacts clothing color expert Brittany Johnson

J.Crew, retailer of women's, men's, and children's apparel and accessories, recently contacted children's clothing color expert Brittany Johnson. As the founder and creator of "Color 4 Kids," the first how-to book for children's dressing, Ms. Johnson said she was not surprised.

"'Color 4 Kids' is gathering media attention, and creating a stir in the kids' fashion industry. I had contacted J.Crew last summer and sent my business profile to Heather McCauliffe, the company's Corporate Communications Spokesperson, and was excited about the possibility of working with J Crew and possibly partnering with their children's clothing line, Crew Cuts for Kids," said Ms. Johnson.

Since the summer months, Ms. Johnson has sent several press releases and updates to Ms. McCauliffe concerning the growing interest with "Color 4 Kids."

Samantha Weston, Special Events Assistant for J.Crew, contacted Ms. Johnson earlier this week requesting information on ways to partner with them. "We always work closely with any group or individual we team up with to make sure both parties are excited and feel comfortable about the union, " stated Ms. Weston. "We don't have book partnerships very often, so when we do we always want to make sure we are aligning ourselves with like-minded authors."

"Choosing clothes should be more than just picking the latest trend," says Ms. Johnson. She says the colors your children wear can have a direct impact on their self-esteem and how well they do in school. Children can wear any color, but the shade and intensity can make all the difference in making them feel special, and you can use your kids' hair and eye colors along with their skin tones to determine which tones look best on them and make them shine. This easy concept also makes dressing kids easier when mornings are hectic, and it saves money as well, since clothes will be easier to mix and match.

Johnson is an image consultant and color expert. "Color 4 Kids" is listed on Amazon and Barnes & Noble's Web sites. No definite plans are under way with J.Crew at this time, pending a launch of a book Ms. Weston had indicated they are planning to launch at J.Crew, Crew Cuts stores.
