New batik designs unveiled for official attires

Kraftangan Malaysia unveiled the four 1Malaysia batik designs to be used on the attires for official functions and the 1Malaysia campaign.

Four shirt patterns, two baju kurung and two kebaya featuring the designs were shown to Prime Minister Mr. Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak, out of which the PM will select one design for the attire, worn at official functions.

The designer Mr. Nazarii Maarus created this design, which incorporates all the races in the country, Malays, Chinese and Indians, and the ethnic groups of Sabah and Sarawak and feature songket, paisley, peacock feather, pua kumba, peony and cotton flower motifs.

Red, blue, black, yellow and white colours have been used in this design, said the designer.
