Clothing manufacturers need to focus on novel fabric trends

Garment manufacturers give utmost importance on quality of fabrics, cuts and design as they make a fashion statement. Manufacturers adjust their production cycles as per fashion oriented changes.

Office work-wear attires too are changing, as companies permit their employees to wear semi-formals and casuals at the workplace. This has resulted in change of focus for manufacturers as they, too are shifting production from formal wear to casual wear.

Purchase decisions are made based on the design, as well as fabric. It is therefore important for manufacturers, retailers and consumers to know the emerging trends in fabrics.

Many countries are opening giant retail stores and selling quality and branded men's garments through them. By focusing on current fashion trends in the men's apparel industry, there are opportunities for manufacturers to increase exports.

The task of the textile technologist and designers is to know about the emerging raw materials in order to produce fabrics to differentiate themselves and create a niche segment in the minds of the consumers.
