Drysdales, a leading retailer of western apparel based in Tulsa, Okla., soon will begin its 20th consecutive year as a prominent supporter of the American Quarter Horse Association after recently renewing its sponsorship contract with the group.

“AQHA is pleased to have had a long-standing partnership with Drysdales since 1991,” said Leman Wall, AQHA's director of corporate and affiliate partnerships. “As a respected online, retail and catalog outlet, Drysdales is a natural fit because each AQHA member has a one-stop shop for all the western attire that fits their equine lifestyle.”

“The American Quarter Horse Association is a first-class, very respected organization,” added Sig Schwier, vice president of Drysdales. “We look forward to continuing to work with them.”

Drysdales remains a longtime sponsor of AQHA's Horseback Riding Program, awarding thousands of gift certificates for participants logging a specific amount of time in the saddle.

Jim McClure, president of Drysdales, said the company's first sponsorship pact with AQHA that took effect in January 1991 proved to be mutually beneficial.

“As a part of our initial sponsorship agreement, we were able to mail AQHA members a copy of our catalogs,” McClure said. “This was very important to us because it gave us national exposure to this consumer. AQHA members live a western lifestyle, and we consider them core customers in our customer base.”
