A singing silk sari, named 'Swaramadhuri' has been conceptualized by Mr. P. Mohan, who is a small designer in the Dharmavaram town in Anantpur district of the state of Andhra Pradesh. It carries eight micro-speakers on its border and a small digital music player in its 'Pallu'.

This music player can keep playing 200 songs continuously for around four hours and it is supported by a 2-GB memory chip. Mr. Mohan, who has a diploma in Fashion Designing, required two months' of hard work to come-out with such an exclusive sari design that fascinated a number of silk traders down South.

This unique sari is receiving demands from many reputed showrooms of the states such as Tamil Nadu, Kerala and Andhra Pradesh, informed Mr. B. Datta Shiva, the master weaver, who bought all the rights of this beautiful drape.

Around 10 weavers put their efforts for a month to create this sari, which was auctioned on February 14. The very innovative designer had earlier designed saris with small LED bulbs which he termed as 'lighting saris' and silk saris made from sandalwood.
