Giovani to introduce exclusive teenager collection

As lifestyle brand Giovani intends to ramp up its footprint in the branded fashion industry, it aims at spend Rs. 2 billion for development of its retail business, by 2015. Also this year, it plans to foray in the teenager section. Dhir Global is the licensee for the brand in India.

Over the next five years it intends to have, in all 100 exclusive outlets across India. At present the company has 11 outlets located in Delhi NCR, Bangalore, Kolkata, Chandigarh, Jaipur and Chennai. The brand at present is also being displayed in over 200 large format departmental and multi-speciality stores.

Mr M.K. Dhir, Chairman and Managing Director of Dhir Global, who made the above remarks, also divulged that, as the customers in the Tier II and small cities are becoming more and more fashion conscious, they intend to concentre more on those places.

He said that, the company has planned to fund these investments jointly from internal accruals and equity capital.

The company is also planning to introduce an exclusive collection for teenagers, and it also intends to start outlets dedicated to the segment, which will be implemented in the later part of the year, said Mr. Dhir.

He informed that these exclusive collections for teenagers will consist of stuff used in metropolis, like jackets, shirts, trousers and knitwear. He also said that, they intend to tap this segment of customers which the other brands have missed out.
