Arizona shoppers to have DownEast style

High-style, low-price retailer DownEast Outfitters has expanded its presence in Arizona with the opening of its latest DownEast Clothing store at the Dana Park Village Square in Mesa. The new DownEast Clothing store offers the very best merchandise – including its full line of DownEast Basics apparel and a variety of well-known, national denim brands – at the very best prices. Also included is a new line of stylish and modest swimwear to flatter all body types.

Already, the new location is proving to be popular with local shoppers, significantly exceeding the company's opening sales projections. To show customers its appreciation for their loyalty and support, DownEast will host an official grand opening event at the store, offering shoppers a chance to enter a “Shopping's More Fun with Your Girlfriends” giveaway.

“We strategically plan where to expand our retail presence based on customers' demonstrated appreciation for our high style, low price philosophy,” said Charlie Freedman, Vice President for DownEast. “While we opened a number of stores in new states throughout 2009, this year we are looking to significantly grow our local presence in several key markets. Based on the tremendous response we've received from shoppers in Mesa and Phoenix in general, Arizona is definitely one of those key areas.”

The brand opened its first local store – DownEast Basics, which offers the company's own private label, stylish clothing and accessories – in December 2008 at the Superstition Springs Mall in Mesa. That opening was followed by another DownEast Basics location in Chandler in September 2009. According to Freedman, the DownEast Clothing store in Dana Park Village Square is the next strategic step in making Arizona a new hub for the company's growth.

“DownEast is a household retail name in Utah where we began, and we're aiming to grow at a similar rate and achieve a similar level of awareness in Arizona. We expect to open several additional new stores throughout the state in the next 18 to 24 months,” said Freedman.

DownEast Clothing at Dana Park Offers Giveaway for One Winner + Four Friends
To show customers its appreciation and celebrate the new store, the Dana Park location is conducting a special contest, themed “Shopping's More Fun with Your Girlfriends”, that will run during an official grand opening weekend celebration from Friday, May 7 to Sunday, May 9. Customers will have the chance to register in person at the store for the giveaway and also enjoy special grand opening promotions. The giveaway will award one lucky winner a shopping experience valued at $200 and also present a $50 gift certificate to each of four friends selected by the winner. The winner does not have to be present at the time of the drawing on Monday, May 10, to win.
