The first-ever networking event on ethical fashion clothing was recently organised in Ahmedabad. The co-hosts of the meet were Moralfibre, which is an Ahmedabad based company and Ethical Fashion Forum (EFF), London.
Moralfibre has been set up in 2006 based on two important sustainability fundamentals; to develop environmentally friendly fabrics and clothing based on hand-spun, hand-woven techniques of fabric making and to make the process of fabric making socio–economically sustainable.
EFF is a network of individuals, businesses & organizations focusing upon social & environmental sustainability in the fashion industry. It has over 2,800 members, over 400 discussion seminars and over 150 events organized by its worldwide members.
The event was attended by fashion designers and people connected to the textile and apparel sector. The meeting ended with a consensus that more like-minded people should get together for the cause of ethical clothing along with spreading the word.
