Shaw to set growing retailer's financial strategic direction

Retailer Anchor Blue brings on Tom Shaw as Senior Vice President of Finance and Chief Financial Officer. Shaw is charged with setting strategic directions for finance and accounting along with management of planning, logistics, IT and real estate. He is based out of the corporate headquarters in Corona, CA.
“By pairing a proven, accomplished financial executive with our new pushes into design, marketing and merchandising, we'll have all the right pieces in place to continue Anchor Blue's evolution,” says Tom Sands, CEO of Anchor Blue. “Tom's a great match for Anchor Blue. Having seen the success he helped to foster at Papyrus, we're confident he's the right person to provide the financial strategy to take Anchor Blue to new heights.”
Shaw served as CFO for Papyrus. Shaw was with the retailer during a high growth time from 2005 until he started with Anchor Blue this spring. As CFO of Papyrus, he identified opportunities and acquired the capital needed to fuel the brand's growth.
“It is an exciting opportunity to join a growing brand such as Anchor Blue. I hope to bring a blend of retail experience, financial management and strategic vision to assist the company in achieving peak financial performance,” says Shaw. “I'm looking forward to working with a fantastic team and to help Anchor Blue capitalize on the significant opportunities we have going forward.”
Prior to Papyrus, Shaw held various senior financial positions at BEA Systems including Director of Treasury and Services Controller for Europe, Middle East and Africa. Shaw is now working closely with the executive and financial teams to bring strategic growth to Anchor Blue. The retailer operates 112 retail stores on the west coast, southwest and mountain states.
