Return of the Split Girl brand

Life Distribution LLC announces the re-launch of Split Girl apparel & swim brand. The re-launch of the Split Girl apparel brand will include four full spectrum collections a year, starting with Fall 2011 and the swim collection will re-launch in Spring 2011. The original founder of Split and President of Life Distribution, David Patri, promises a fashion driven perspective for the new Split Girl collection that will capitalize on the already edgy and art inspired persona of the brand.

The return of the Split Girl brand will again allow the young fashion leader to find a sense of freshness in youth apparel. The Split Girl is confident with an easy expression that combines classic style with vintage and contemporary looks.

Patri's intention to rejuvenate the respected global fashion brand, Split Girl, established in 1999, stems from his original belief in the brand.

“Split Girl's original voice was immediately heard. Now we have an opportunity to re-launch an already strong brand, known for its creativity, and re-introduce it in a new, more fashion focused climate,” said Patri. “At Life Distribution, the original lifestyle and philosophy that established Split in the beginning still drives the company today and we are proud to be re-launching Split in the U.S. in 2011,” Patri continued.

Still mindful of its roots in swim and surf, the brand will again seek to be a presence in Surf shops and select retailers, while expanding its influence in the fashion boutique market. The Split Girl swim line will continue its universal success in all swimwear retailers.

Split Girl and Split Swim license agreements are currently thriving in the United States, Canada and Europe with planned expansion in the Brazilian marketplace, where Split Mens currently thrives in the board-sport sector.

The Split Girl swim line is currently performing well in retailers such as The Buckle, Tilly's and Victoria's Secret. Life Distribution looks forward to bringing the Swim program back under their umbrella next Spring.

Split was founded in 1988 by design students in San Luis Obispo, Ca. The original premise of the brand was to create something unique, without a focus on any particular sport. The brand was the first 'cross board sport' company, with a universal appeal, focused on 'living the lifestyle'. This lifestyle involved board sports, music, art and fashion influences.

In 1999 the Split Girl line was launched, with strong global distribution the brand became a major label for consumers in the mid 2000's. The label's identity remains focused on creating a distinct product and remaining a leader in the areas of innovation and creative expression.
