Danish brand 'Bestseller' to launch more labels in India

'Bestseller', the Danish apparel chain is contemplating launching a kids-wear brand and casual-wear brands which however have not been selected as yet in the coming year in India, according to a top Indian official of the company.

Bestseller which is a €1.7 billion clothing chain has in its stable many brands of which casual-wear brands Jack and Jones and Vero Moda have been introduced to the Indian markets, through 11 exclusive brand outlets (EBO's) in India.

The company is planning to reach a store count of 100 through its various labels in the next three years. At an average investment of Rs 4,000 per sq. feet, the chain plans to take it store count to 50 in one year, by mainly concentrating on tier-II and III cities.

Speaking to fibre2fashion, Mr Vineet Gautam, Country Head of Bestseller Retail India said “It is true we are evaluating brands to be introduced. We have four more brands. There is a lot of potential in the Indian market and we will definitely bring in the new brands.

He added by saying, “We are evaluating brands like Vila, Mamalicia but we are yet not decided which brands we will be introducing as we keep evaluating the market and are also working on the kids-segment which has a lot of potential."
