Yishion plans 25 exclusive outlets in India by 2012

Yishion, a leading Chinese retailer lately informed that, it has paved in the Indian markets and intends to set up over 125 point of sales in the country by 2012. This figure of 125 retail outlets includes exclusive outlets and multi-brand stores.

The company, with a turnover of $12 billion and with garment and accessories as its area of expertise, said that, it has inked a 50:50 partnership deal with Upmarket Group, marketing and distribution firm based in Delhi, and it would launch its first exclusive outlet in Delhi by September.

They have granted an official sanction to the joint venture and intend to open 25 exclusive stores, while marking presence in over 100 multi-brand outlets by 2012, said Zhou Juntao, Vice President, Yishion group.

He also said that, the final investment plans between the two companies are underway and the Chinese Group is still waiting to obtain international registration from the Indian Government.

Juntao mentioned that, Hongluan Trade India Pvt Ltd, the new JV Company in its first phase would only launch men's wear in India and later on would bring in its complete range of products like kids' wear, footwear, accessories and handbags.

Currently, the group is selling its products in India via lifestyle family chain Rituwear's exclusive outlets. Juntao informed that, the company products to be displayed here would come in a range of Rs 800 to 3,300 and that the company intends to lay hands on mass market. The fabric collection will be brought in from the company's facility, based in Shenzhen.

He further said that, before giving a final shot to their plans in India, they, for around two years surveyed the markets here, and discovered that, there was much in common between the two markets. These similarities mainly appeared in the form of a massive youth consumer band, as also want for economically priced products.

While speaking of the anticipated income from operations in the country, Juntao said that, over the next three years they eye profits of at least Rs 100 million and intend to nurture a more realistic approach.

At present, Yishion marks its presence in around 25 countries in Asia and Europe with over 3,000 outlets.
