TEA requests Joint Secretary (Drawback) to implement EDI System

Shri. A.Sakthivel President of Tirupur Exporters Association (TEA) said that he has sent a letter to Shri Najib Shah, I.R.S., Joint Secretary (Drawback), Central Board of Excise and Customs requesting to implement EDI System in ICD, CFS & CONCOR, Tirupur.
We wish to make a note of it that EDI system has not been implemented in ICD, CFS and CONCOR in Tirupur, though it was promised to come into effect from May 2010 itself. Due to this, the knitwear exporters are still filing shipping bills under the manual systems for effecting exports.
We would like to drive home the point that the exporters have been complaining about the missing of shipping bills and also delay in getting duty drawback rates while exports are being effected under manual systems.
In view of this, we request you to kindly advise the officials to implement the EDI system in ICD, CFS and CONCOR in Tirupur at the earliest for the exporters to do the business hassle free and help them to concentrate more for increasing their exports.
