P&G eyes development with a nappy factory in Egypt

An official statement from Procter & Gamble (P&G) states that, the company intends to double its investment in the most densely populated Arab country over the coming few years. For this it is constructing a diaper factory in Egypt, with an investment of one billion Egyptian pounds.
The construction work for the factory, second in Egypt, would be over by 2011, and as the factory commences, 40 percent of its produce will be vended in the domestic markets, whereas, the rest will be exported to other continents like Africa, Asia and Europe.
Mohamed Sultan, General Manager of Procter & Gamble's Egypt unit said that, they are looking upon the new plant as a beginning of a new journey, headed towards amplifying their investments in Egypt to almost double over a time span of next few years.
