Seattle-based Nordstrom, Inc announced plans to open a Nordstrom Rack in Sunset Valley, Texas during spring 2011. The 34,040 square-foot store will be part of the Sunset Valley Village shopping center, allowing the retailer to better serve its South Austin area customers.
The new Rack will join a retail mix at Sunset Valley Village that includes Old Navy, Barnes & Noble, World Market and Sprouts Farmers Market. The center is owned and operated by RREEF, the real estate investment management business of Deutsche Bank's Asset Management division.
Nordstrom also operates a full-line store at nearby Barton Creek Square and opened its first Rack store in Austin last year at Gateway Shopping Center.
"We love serving our Austin area customers and hope this new Rack will give them another convenient way to shop with Nordstrom," said Geevy Thomas, president of Nordstrom Rack. "We're excited to open our doors and be part of Sunset Valley Village."
The Rack is the off-price retail division of Nordstrom, and carries merchandise from Nordstrom stores and Nordstrom.com. Nordstrom Rack also offers a wide selection of apparel, accessories and shoes from many of the brands carried in Nordstrom stores and purchased specially for Nordstrom Rack.
