China major source of clothing imports

Garment supply from China has become the major source of Spanish imports, accounting for 28.47 percent of Spanish imports.
China's share totally increased by more than 150 percent in last five years, but the growth has stagnated in the recent two years.
Other major source countries are Portugal, Turkey, Morocco and Italy, together forming about 15 percent of Spanish total imports.
In Galicia region of Spain, major sources of readymade clothing are Portugal and Morocco, accounting for approximately 23.85 percent and 20.96 percent, respectively.
Imports of clothing from China accounts for 19.95 percent in Galicia. The above three countries together account for 64.7 percent of the imports by Galicia region.
