Laguna Clothing launches second plant in Bangalore

Laguna Clothing has introduced its second apparel production plant in Bangalore. The firm is a joint venture between $300 million CIEL Group Company from Mauritius and $200 million Gruppo Tessile Monti SPA from Italy in 50:50 partnerships.
Situated in Seegekote village, around 7 kilometres from Kanakapura town, the plant spreads across an area of 110,000 square feet and Rs 200 million has been invested in establishing the same.
Laguna Clothing has a capacity to manufacture 15,000 high-end formal shirts per day and its production plant is likely to employ over 3,000 labourers by the time the factory reaches maturity by 2011.
The firm already has an apparel producing plant in Jigni, Bangalore, with a capacity to manufacture 3,000 shirts per day. It supplies premium shirts to high-end user brands such as Banana Republic, Charles Tyrwhitt and Saks Fifth Avenue.
