KooGa Canada operates under license from KooGa Rugby, the UK headquartered manufacturer and supplier to the sport of rugby around the world. The company now assumes the rights as an Official Sponsor of Rugby Canada's National teams and programs and as the Official On Field Kit Supplier and Official Sportswear Supplier of Rugby Canada.

Nick Taylor, Commercial Director for Rugby Canada said, “Rugby Canada has had a relationship with the KooGa brand for over eight years in varying official capacities. The company was relatively young when we first worked together and they were a wonderful addition to our sponsorship portfolio during some important building years for our organization.

"As we are poised to grow in a new and exciting direction on the world stage, both Rugby Canada and KooGa have arrived at a crossroads where the company can now assume the rights to both the On Field and Off Field sponsorship categories.”

Taylor went on to say, “It would be remiss of me not to acknowledge our previous sponsor Barbarian Rugby Wear who supported our teams and programs steadfastly for all those years through their sponsorship of the On Field Kit category.

"Barbarian was an ideal partner who stood behind us as an extension of our team, and ensured that we always took the field to represent our country in the best kit available to us. We wish the company continued success as they have long been a fixture in Canadian rugby and will continue to be a part of the fabric of our sport for years to come.”

The modern game of rugby 15s and equally importantly rugby 7s has continued to evolve where every strategic advantage a team can incorporate to their training and competition can mean the difference between winning and losing on the world stage. As the game has evolved, so too has the technology behind the kit and equipment that International teams use in their training and competition environments.

With respect to the new On Field Kit that will be worn by Canada's National Senior Men's Team along with all other Canadian programs, Gerald Woodman of KooGa Canada commented, “The Canadian 15s teams will be only the second International 15s rugby sides to take to the field with the newest in an evolution of our product technology.

"The playing jersey that will be launched officially this coming fall has been developed using the most advanced technology with key specifications in mind to enhance the on field performance of these elite athletes. Further enhancements to our line of training apparel will also add a key component to the Canadian team's preparation in training.”

On how the new playing jersey was designed, Woodman would only say, “Members of the National Senior Men's Team in conjunction with our top designers – developed a jersey that will now look cutting edge while also incorporating some subtle yet important elements that make the jersey a truly Canadian garment.

"We are confident that supporters across the country and around the world will be excited to get their hands on the replica versions of this new jersey to show their support for the teams – especially the Senior Men as they head to the Rugby World Cup in New Zealand next fall.”

While Canada's teams have already been wearing the current line of Off Field training gear and apparel through the 2010 season, the new 2011 Jersey and On Field Kit is set to be launched at an official press event this Fall. Teams participating in the Commonwealth Games and the America's Rugby Championship this October will be wearing one of KooGa's top match jerseys from their “Pro-Tech” collection.
