Uniqlo to launch most high-priced jeans

Japan's Fast Retailing Co. informal wear retail chain – Uniqlo is planning to launch a pair of jeans branded 'Slim' at just 9,990 yen, towards the end of October. This will be the most high-priced jeans that the retail chain has ever sold.
The jeans will be sold, at a price 10 times more than that of the company's lowest-cost clothing, which is available for 990 yen and 150 percent more than the price of jeans, which the company mostly sells.
A premium denim manufacturer, based in Fukuyama, Hiroshima Prefecture – Kaihara Co. will supply the materials for making the new jeans. Uniqlo has its production centres in other overseas countries.
The retail chain anticipates that the new product will strengthen its brand image, particularly for the entire jeans collection. It will be retailed in around 10 large outlets in major cities of the country like Osaka and Tokyo. Slim jeans have already been offered to the buyers through internet.
While referring to the company's core jeans collection, a Fast Retailing authority remarked that, it is not going to change its price range.
