American Apparel & Footwear Association (AAFA) President and CEO Kevin M. Burke released the following statement after the U.S. House of Representatives voted to pass the Small Business Jobs and Credit Act (H.R. 5297). The U.S. Senate approved the legislation on September 16, 2010.
"The U.S. apparel and footwear industry applauds the House and Senate for quickly approving this bill because of its direct benefit to small and medium sized businesses. By voting to expand access to credit for small and medium sized businesses at this critical time, this legislation equips businesses, and the millions of U.S. workers they employ, with a key tool as they continue to face a difficult economic environment. I urge President Obama to sign this bill into law as soon as possible."
