At present, China's annual sales of innerwear has reached more than 100 billion Yuan, with a growth rate of nearly 20 percent per annum, but the industry still faces many problems. This was the opinion of experts at First China International Innerwear Forum.
They also averred that, there was an urgent need to upgrade brands and development of the innerwear segment. There are thousands of small and big factories churning out millions of pieces of innerwear.
They are mainly concentrated in the Pearl River Delta and Yangtze River Delta region, which have become one of the fastest growing regions of the global innerwear and lingerie industry.
"To enhance underwear product design, speed up construction of marketing channels, foster development of independent brands has become an important strategic task of the industry," said Wang Tiankai, Vice-President of the Chinese Textile Industry Association.
