AEPC hopes government will raise duty drawback rates

The 31st annual general meeting of Apparel Export Promotion Council (AEPC) was held at Niryat Bhawan in New Delhi on September 30. In his speech, Mr Premal Udani summed up major activities of the council after taking over as the AEPC's chairman on January 7 – on export performance, policy matters, compliance issues, product and market development, trade delegations, export promotion activities, international fairs, skill development initiatives, human resource development besides information and technology.
Mr Udani said he will continue to work with diligence for the apparel industry and hoped the government will raise duty drawback rates. At the annual general meeting, Mr Udani, Mr Vijay Kumar Agarwal and Mr Prashant Agarwal were re-elected to the executive committee from the western region.
From the southern region, Mr Jagadish Hinduja, Mr Manav Goyal and Mr Palanisamy were re-elected, From the northern region, Mr Rakesh Vaid and Mr H.K.L. Magu were re-elected while Mr Satish Lakhina was elected in place of Mr G.S. Madan.
