Medical industry supports fastest-growing clothing company

IguanaMed, a high-end medical apparel company, has become the fastest-growing clothing brand in 2010 according to the recently-released Inc. 500|5000 list. IguanaMed earned this prestigious recognition by realizing a three-year revenue growth of 1182%. The company is currently featured in Inc. magazine's September “Top 500” issue.
“I think we've surprised a lot of people in the clothing industry,” says Gregory Lilien, CEO of IguanaMed. “When most people think of apparel brands, they think of designer labels like Gucci, Prada or Armani, but we've worked hard to increase our sales and appreciate this recognition of our efforts.”
IguanaMed sells premium scrubs to select retail stores nationwide and has made its mark in the medical apparel industry by offering MedFlex fabrics, a specialized textile constructed of tri-blend and spandex, which provides high-performance flexibility and durability for medical and hospital professionals. Built with a nod to performance athletic wear, MedFlex creates a level of comfort not found in traditional scrubs.
“To us, it makes sense that the healthcare industry has made IguanaMed as popular as it has become,” admits Lilien. “It's an industry projected to create more jobs in the next 10 years than any other, and 10 of the top 20 fastest-growing occupations are healthcare-related.” According the Bureau of Labor Statistics, the healthcare industry has created more than 559,000 jobs since the start of the recession in December 2007.
IguanaMed's fresh approach to scrubs brings fashion-forward designs from the world's runways and puts them into hospitals, doctor's offices and medical clinics. Blending cutting-edge design, colors and high-performance fabrics, the company aims to revitalize a traditionally stagnant industry.
