Garment exports from Bali record stupendous growth

Through the light industry exports, Bali has garnered $125.6 million during the first semester of the current year, recording a 14.7 percent growth over the export value of $109 million fetched during the same period last year, informed a local trade official.
Garment items of the country have mostly been the key items, offering export boost in the category of light industry, according to the head of the Bali industry and trade office – Mr. Putu Bagiada.
Out of the total exports worth $125.6 million, garment items accounted for $82.8 million from the sale of 33.4 million pieces of garment items of different types and measurements. The US and EU are the key markets for Indonesian garments.
During the first semester of the current year, export value of garment products has recorded a 15 percent growth against last year's earnings of $72.1 million, and the export volume has improved by 31 percent.
