Cricket Canada secures sponsorship deal with Reebok

Reebok and Cricket Canada are pleased to announce the signing of a multi-year agreement that will make Reebok the Official Apparel Supplier of Cricket Canada.
The agreement is inclusive of all Cricket Canada's teams including the 2011 Cricket World Cup bound Senior Men's team, Canada A Development Squad, Women's Program, Canada u19 & u15 Programs, and Cricket Canada's National Championships.
Reebok, a subsidiary of Adidas AG, has made major inroads into the marketability of cricket during the past decade and recently have signed agreements with Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC), Cricket South Africa (CSA), and Zimbabwe Cricket (ZC) ahead of the 2011 Cricket World Cup.
The relationship with Cricket Canada adds to a cricket portfolio that already includes IPL teams Chennai Super Kings, Kolkata Knight Riders, Kings XI Punjab, and Bangalore Royal Challengers, the International Cricket Council, as well as cricket Superstars Mahendra Singh Doni (IND), Mahela Jayawardena (SL) and Yuvraj Singh (IND).
Cricket Canada President Ranjit Saini spoke after signing the agreement in Toronto.
“The opportunity to partner with one of the largest brands in sport is an exciting step for Cricket Canada. We have secured a high quality product for our National teams for the next 3 years, and look forward to growing the relationship that we have now started.”
Saini continued. “Reebok's involvement with Cricket Canada marks the first global sports brand to enter the North American cricket market in this capacity, and we are pleased to be at the leading edge of this push.”
In addition to the provision of apparel for Canada's National teams and programs, the agreement will serve as a platform to better market Cricket Canada branded merchandise and apparel, through Reebok's considerable global distribution network, to a rapidly growing Canadian cricket fan and supporter base around the world.
