TEA appreciates WRAP Awareness Program

Bureau Veritas Consumer Products Services has successfully organized a WRAP Awareness Program for the Tirupur Manufacturers. The seminar is jointly organized by Bureau Veritas and WRAP in Apparel Hub city Tirupur, India on December 13, 2010 at TEA HALL, No. 62, Appachi Nagar Main Road, Kongu Nagar, Tirupur.
The seminar is inaugurated by Mr. Chandran -- Vice President, Tirupur Export Association and this WRAP Awareness Program is well appreciated by Tirupur Export Association and recommended manufacturers to comply with all social compliance requirements to maintain an immaculate impression of Indian manufacturing Industry.
WRAP is an independent, non-profit organization dedicated to the certification of facilities engaged in lawful, humane and ethical manufacturing and services throughout the world. The Worldwide Responsible Accredited Production (WRAP) program is the world's largest facility certification program for labour-intensive sectors including the apparel, footwear, home textiles, fashion accessories, leather, cashmere, feather and down, silk, printing, hotels, jewellery, furniture, construction materials, food processing, glassware, home accessories, etc.
Mr. Avedis H. Seferian- Esg. Director of Compliance Administration, WRAP described the WRAP certification process and WRAP principles. The seminar covered social issues which are commonly faced by the organizations, a brief overview of local and national laws, the requirements of WRAP principles, how to establish, maintain and implement an internal social system, and the benefits of being a certified company. Companies involved in international trade business, companies intending to build an international brand, and parties interested in social compliance have attended this event, in order to understand the importance of social compliance and win the international market.
The program covered the challenges being faced by the manufacturers in the supply chain in the interactive session with the attendees during the Q&A session. Bureau Veritas provided the solutions to comply with social compliance requirements throughout the supply chain, and received a wonderful response from the attendees on the event.
